Welcome to Mrs. Vukmarkaj's 2nd Grade Class Website
WELCOME
Welcome to our classroom's website! I hope you find this website useful in learning more about our 2nd grade classroom. Check back often for updates!
Our class website is filled with useful information and is updated weekly. Not only will it share classroom and curriculum information, but it will be a place to share our school day with you at home! Slideshows are uploaded monthly to give you a peek into our day as well as e-books that the students will publish! Check back often to see the exciting things that are happening in
our classroom!
In addition to our class website, Class Story will be used as a blog. Instead of updating the blog myself, the students will be commenting and posting on the blog to show what they have learned. I also encourage you to post comments on the blog as well! The students love to see who is reading our blog!
The home page features new and exciting things that are currently happening in our classroom! Don't forget to navigate the links on the left hand side for more classroom information, older slideshows, class books, weekend news reports, and more!

Reading
Our class has been working so hard in our first series book club!As a series becomes more familiar , the students' thinkingbecomes more insightful! The recurring characters in a series alsohelp students examine them deeper. Who are the "stars" of theseries? How do they feel and behave? What kinds of trouble dothey encounter and how to they respond to that trouble? What arethese characters' relationships like?
As we continue the series, the students think and talk togetherabout the similarities and differences that they find across theseries.
After spring break, the student will start their own mini book clubswith a series of their choice!
Take a sneak peek of what Book Clubs look like in our classroom:
